Mr. Tom Habashi
Interim CEO
Monterey Bay Community Power

Dear Mr. Habashi:

Today the Board of Directors of the Monterey Peninsula Taxpayers Association voted to ask for your consideration to include taxpayer association representatives on any Community Advisory or Oversight Committee that is established for this new power agency.

It is important that ratepayer interests have a voice – preferably multiple voices – on this committee. Our volunteer association was involved in the deliberation over the creation of this agency, but we often found our perspective crowded out by professional lobbyists for social justice groups and climate change organizations.

We understand these groups are now calling for a formal community advisory group. We look forward to participating in this group as a formal member when it is formed.

Sincerely,

Rick Heuer
